Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Guest Services Agent to deliver exceptional service at the front desk, assist with guest check‑ins, and support daily hotel operations.

The role requires bilingual English and French, cash handling, and proficiency with hotel systems. You may work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed, contributing to a high‑pace, guest‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both official languages (English and French).
• Front desk experience in a similar environment.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Cash handling accuracy.
• Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel software is preferred.
• Active listener and self-starter.
• Ability to make decisions and take initiative.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute.
• Positive and pleasant attitude.
• Able to work independently.
• Strong team player.
• Detail oriented.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to our internal and external guests.
• Register and checkout hotel guests.
• Greet with tour groups when required and assist with check-ins.
• Generate reports for other departments.
• Act as ambassador of Fairmont Château Laurier.
• Follow service standards and settle guest accounts.
• Assist Leadership in daily duties.
• Available evenings, weekends and holidays, including overnight shifts as needed.
• Follow all safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Provide outstanding service to our internal and external guests
• Assist with tour check‑ins and greet the tour guide and groups when required
• Generate reports for other departments in the hotel
• Key member of crisis & emergency team
• Register and checkout hotel guests
• Act as an ambassador of Fairmont Château Laurier
• Greet, check in and settle guest accounts while ensuring all service standards are followed
• Assist Leadership in performing daily duties
• Available evenings, weekends and holidays
• Available to work overnight shift, when required
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned
