Job summary

People Store Staffing is seeking an experienced Air Import / Inland Coordinator to manage air import and domestic truck shipments from origin through final delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate air import shipments, arrange trucking, communicate with overseas agents, carriers, brokers, and customers, and prepare customs documentation. This role requires 2+ years in freight-forwarding or import and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Two years of freight-forwarding or import experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air import shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Arrange domestic trucking and inland deliveries.
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, brokers, truckers, terminals, and customers.
• Prepare and review MAWBs, HAWBs, arrival notices, customs documents, delivery orders, and other shipping documents.
• File eManifests through the CBSA portal.
• Coordinate customs clearance and PARS documentation.
• Proactively track shipments and manage delays, holds, inspections and other exceptions.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information in the company’s operating system.
• Monitor shipment milestones and transportation costs.
• Ensure files are billed accurately and closed promptly.
• Obtain and maintain proof of delivery documentation.
• Work with sales and accounting for a positive customer experience.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Air Import / Inland Coordinator to manage air import and domestic truck shipments from origin through final delivery. This position ensures shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with customs regulations and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate air import shipments from booking through customs clearance and final delivery
• Arrange domestic trucking and inland deliveries
• Communicate with overseas agents, air carriers, customs brokers, truckers, terminals, and customers
• Provide customers with timely shipment updates and resolve operational issues
• Prepare and review MAWBs, HAWBs, arrival notices, customs documents, delivery orders, and other shipping documentation
• File eManifests through the CBSA portal
• Coordinate customs clearance and prepare PARS documentation
• Proactively track shipments and manage delays, holds, inspections, and other exceptions
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information in the company’s operating system
• Monitor shipment milestones and transportation costs
• Ensure files are billed accurately and closed promptly
• Obtain and maintain proof of delivery documentation
• Work closely with the sales and accounting teams to provide a positive customer experience
• Provide operational coverage during the absence of other team members

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have two to three years of freight-forwarding or import experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication and organizational skills. They must be comfortable managing multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

• Minimum two years of experience in a freight-forwarding environment
• Education in supply chain, logistics, international transportation, or a related field is preferred
• CIFFA certification is considered an asset
• Dangerous Goods certification is considered an asset

Technical and Language Skills

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Previous experience using freight-forwarding or logistics operating systems
• Experience using the CBSA portal and filing eManifests

• Proof of Delivery (POD)
• Shipment-related correspondence
