Job summary

YMCA BC is seeking a compassionate team member to support an inclusive before and after school program for children ages 5-12 in Surrey, BC. You will design activities, support individualized plans, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Hours are 2:00pm–5:30pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 17.5 hours weekly. The role offers benefits and training opportunities, with a deadline of October 16, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Experience delivering engaging programs for children ages 5-12.
• Able to plan and lead inclusive indoor/outdoor activities.
• Builds strong relationships with children, families and partners.
• Reliable in a fast-paced environment and maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of high-quality, age-appropriate programs for ages 5-12.
• Design and lead indoor and outdoor activities promoting learning and inclusion.
• Supervise and mentor new staff and volunteers.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Ensure safety, health, and CCFL compliance across activities.
