Job summary

YMCA BC is hiring a School Age leader for before/after school programs for children aged 5–12. The role focuses on inclusive, developmentally appropriate activities, safety, and positive engagement.

You will work 12.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday 2:30–5:00 pm, with term Sept 8, 2026 to Mar 31, 2027, at sites across Vancouver. Benefits include vacation, sick time, discounts, and training support.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• Experience supporting children with diverse needs in childcare, school, or recreational settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, strengths-based support to children 5-12.
• Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans.
• Lead engaging indoor/outdoor activities aligned with YMCA standards.
• Maintain active supervision and ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Foster inclusivity and positive relationships with families and staff.
