Job summary

YMCA BC in Dawson Creek, BC, seeks a compassionate team member to support before/after school programs for children aged 5–12. You will design engaging activities, monitor safety, and work with a dedicated team to foster belonging and learning.

The role offers flexible shifts, up to 30 hours, with potential to contribute beyond on Pro D days. You will be part of a charity dedicated to community wellbeing, with benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Experience working with children ages 5–12 and delivering high-quality programs.
• Able to plan and lead inclusive indoor/outdoor activities.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues and partners.
• Reliable and capable in a fast-paced environment; maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, age-appropriate programs for ages 5–12.
• Design indoor/outdoor activities that promote learning, wellness and inclusion.
• Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers, fostering teamwork.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, staff and community partners.
• Ensure safety, CCFL compliance, health, safety and confidentiality.
• Prepare nutritious snacks and maintain clean, organized spaces.
• Support diversity and inclusive practices across programming.
