Job summary

CIBC Risk Management is hiring Winter Co-Ops in Toronto. You’ll join a collaborative, agile team helping drive meaningful change across the enterprise. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 1–3 days on-site and remaining days remote.

You must be enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies after the term. Masters or MBA students are an asset, with strong MS Office skills. The program runs January–April 2027 and requires eligibility to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in credit risk, compliance, or QA
• Experience in credit adjudication/underwriting
• Detail-oriented and analytical
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset

Responsibilities

• File Review & Compliance Assessment - conduct independent file-level reviews to evaluate adherence to quality metrics and provide recommendations
• Policy & Procedure Oversight - assess compliance with credit policies, procedures and lending authorities for Collections/Account Management, underwriters, and lenders
• Cross-Team Collaboration - support reviews across Private Wealth, Capital Markets, and Indirect Auto
• Audit Support & Liaison - act as liaison for internal and external audits, including insurers and Internal Audit
• Continuous Improvement & Best Practices - champion best practices and share insights
• Risk Trend Identification - analyze policy trends and insights to support risk management strategies
