Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Summer Co‑op in Risk Management in Toronto to join a collaborative, agile team and help enhance the banking experience for the modern world. You’ll work 1–3 days on-site per week with remaining days remote, while pursuing a post‑secondary degree and maintaining full-time studies after the term.

You should be a university student pursuing a Masters or MBA (asset) with strong MS Office skills and the ability to operate within Canada.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in post-secondary and returning to full-time studies after term.
• Not required to be in a registered Co‑Op program to be considered.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must reside within Canada.
• Duration of term: 4 months (January–April 2027).
• May undergo attribute-based assessments and skills tests during the process.

Responsibilities

• File Review & Compliance Assessment - conduct independent file-level reviews to evaluate adherence to quality and productivity metrics and provide actionable recommendations.
• Policy & Procedure Oversight - assess compliance with credit policies and delegated lending authorities for relevant roles, identifying gaps.
• Cross-Team Collaboration - support reviews across Private Wealth, Capital Markets, and Indirect Auto to ensure rigorous quality standards.
• Audit Support & Liaison - act as a liaison for internal/external audits and aid in corrective actions for findings.
• Continuous Improvement & Best Practices - champion improvements and share best practices across the team.
• Risk Trend Identification - analyze policy trends to inform risk management strategies.
