Job summary

Teck Resources in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a student for a 8-month co-op in the Digital Risk & Compliance team. The role focuses on reviewing cyber risk assessment requests, performing basic and intermediate assessments, and reporting to senior leaders.

The co-op requires current enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution and willingness to commute or relocate for the term. Proof of work eligibility may be required. Hybrid work arrangement offered in downtown Vancouver.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of cyber security concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader and adhere to safety rules.
• Champion the 3 lines of defense model for risk management.
• Record cyber risk assessment requests in the intake tracking system.
• Review requests for assessment level assignment.
• Conduct Basic and Intermediate Assessments; support Advanced Assessments as needed.
• Support risk briefings and document risk assessment reports.
• Assist in updating risk registers and maintaining dashboards and management materials.
