Job summary

Douglas College seeks a part-time probationary faculty member in Social Work to teach undergraduate and practicum courses. The position is based at the Coquitlam Campus with hybrid delivery options, starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Qualifications

• PhD in Social Work or related discipline is required.
• Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous and racialized communities through experience or scholarship.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Interpersonal and cooperative team skills are essential.
• Interest and/or proficiency in using online teaching platforms.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate students and practicum courses in the Social Work program.
• Plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources.
• Provide academic advice to learners and maintain learner-centred instruction.
• Deliver courses in face-to-face, online and hybrid formats.
• Provide supervision for student practicum experiences (travel may be required).
• Engage in department, faculty and college committees.
