Job summary

Douglas College’s Social Work Department invites applications for a part-time probationary faculty member to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. You will teach undergraduate students and practicum courses, plan learning activities, and provide academic guidance in a collaborative, learner-centred environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Social Work or related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous worldviews and anti-colonial approaches.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Interpersonal and cooperative team skills.
• Experience teaching post-secondary students.
• Curriculum development experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate students and practicum courses in social work.
• Plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources.
• Provide academic advice to learners and maintain learner-centred instruction.
• Participate in department, faculty and college committees.
• Travel to practicum sites for supervision as needed.
• Contribute to community partnerships and initiatives.
