Job summary

ABB is seeking a Market Development Specialist to drive growth in the Advisory of Engineering & Protection. You will build relationships with consultants, contractors, and end-users, develop market plans, and manage a healthy pipeline in the Central region from a hybrid office setup in Canada.

Fluent English is required with the ability to influence stakeholders, provide technical insights, and collaborate with sales and product teams to tailor solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in sales, business development, or account management in commercial/industrial markets.
• Strong knowledge of engineering protection products for electrical distribution.
• Proven ability to influence consultants and end-users; long, complex sales experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English; French language skills would be an advantage.
• Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Professional engineering designation or ongoing professional development in electrical engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with consultants, contractors, and end-users to position ABB solutions.
• Develop and execute market plans to drive demand in Central region.
• Maintain an active pipeline and report progress and conversions.
• Provide technical expertise and value engineering support to customers and internal sales teams.
• Conduct training sessions with customers and sales teams to build knowledge of ABB's solutions.
• Collaborate with product marketing and sales teams to tailor solutions for customer applications.
• Identify and address market challenges, competitive threats, and roadblocks to growth.
