Job summary

Barr is seeking an electrical engineer to join our Canadian team in a hybrid role, supporting the electrical group within multidisciplinary projects across industrial facilities. The role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and client service with occasional travel.

You will design and analyze electrical systems, manage scopes and budgets, and mentor junior staff while collaborating across disciplines to meet client needs and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years' design experience on related projects.
• Experience in mining/power/chemical facilities or similar.
• PE or P.Eng. license in a US/Canadian jurisdiction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis: prepare plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates for electrical systems.
• Lead project management: define scope, deliverables, schedules, and budget; ensure milestones.
• Staff development: mentor and grow team members.
• Collaboration: build relationships with clients and internal teams; align approaches.
