Job summary

Region of Waterloo is seeking an experienced IT technician to provide technical support and administration for clients and staff. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, manage MS Exchange, Lotus Domino, MS Lync, and related accounts, and deploy security configurations across the organization.

The role involves assisting with device configuration, documentation, and training, with hybrid work arrangements and a pathway toward larger IT projects within Corporate Services.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum 3 year degree or diploma in Computer Systems Technology and 3+ years of related work experience in PC hardware, software, and networks.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues and provide solutions to staff.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for end-user support and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to local and remote staff and act as first point of contact for IS issues.
• Administer MS Exchange, Lotus Domino, MS Lync, and DOCS accounts for regional clients.
• Develop and maintain network policies and security configurations; assist in deployment of updates.
• Configure handheld devices, train staff, and maintain documentation and knowledge base.
• Attend meetings to offer technical input and assist in planning technology upgrades.
• Support budget planning, inventory, and liaison with vendors for parts and updates.
