Job summary

Big Blue Bubble Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for end-users, resolving hardware, software and network issues to keep the organization running smoothly.

You will diagnose problems, escalate when needed, and collaborate with internal teams on ongoing IT projects, while maintaining documentation and training materials for new hires in a dynamic, hybrid work environment in Ontario, Canada.

Qualifications

• College diploma in computer science, IT, or an acceptable combination of education and related work experience.
• Strong competence in the Microsoft Ecosystem and Google Suite.
• Familiarity with VMware Virtualization technology (ESXi / Vsphere).
• Exposure to AWS (Amazon) based cloud technologies.
• Basic Networking & Troubleshooting Skills.
• Entry Level Linux/Unix knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming IT support tickets in a timely, professional manner.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and operating system issues.
• Record, track, escalate and resolve end-user technical problems using the IT ticketing system (JIRA).
• Provision, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Active Directory and Google Suite.
• Develop reference and training materials and provide new hires IT systems setup and training.
• Perform general administrative/office maintenance duties for the IT department.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager.
• Handle scheduled software upgrades and patches with the IT Manager.
• Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure IT projects and support requests are met.
• Stay abreast of current and future technological developments or trends.
