Job summary

Halton Region is seeking a Homelessness & Supportive Housing Planner to support planning, development, implementation and ongoing management of homelessness programs and system initiatives. You will strengthen Coordinated Access and system integration while driving continuous improvement across Halton’s homelessness response to improve outcomes for individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

The role reports to a Supervisor and works within a hybrid environment, with duties in the Halton

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and five years of housing experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and political acumen.
• Knowledge of Housing Services Act and related programs.
• Experience in policy development and program planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and housing management systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate homelessness initiatives and Coordinated Access system improvements.
• Represent Halton Region at planning tables and committees; build partnerships with housing providers and stakeholders.
• Develop policies, programs, and frameworks to strengthen housing stability and services coordination.
• Monitor trends, conduct research, and inform program development with evidence.
• Manage budgets for sub-projects and funding allocations for Homelessness Prevention and Reaching Home.
• Provide policy, program and data analysis to support planning and service integration.
• Coordinate engagement, capacity-building and training for stakeholders and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services
