Job summary

Region of Peel is seeking an Advisor, Housing Innovation and Program Design in Brampton to lead long-term planning for housing and homelessness system priorities. The role drives strategic initiatives, coordinates multiple projects, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery.

The position requires post-secondary education in human services or related fields, at least five years of housing policy experience, and three years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Criminal Record Check Level 1 is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in housing policy, program development, planning or strategy.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, policies and programs.
• Experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Minimum of 3 years in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of public policy development and evidence-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of strategic housing initiatives and programs.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with priorities, resources and timelines.
• Develop project plans, milestones, deliverables, risks and performance measures.
• Collaborate with internal divisions, external agencies and community stakeholders.
• Influence planning activities to support housing service goals and outcomes.
• Lead research, data analysis and environment scans to identify trends and opportunities.
• Design and evaluate policies and service models addressing affordable housing and homelessness.
• Provide leadership in program design, policy development and performance measurement.
• Develop frameworks and best practices for housing system improvements.
• Lead cross-functional teams and promote evidence-informed practices.
