Job summary

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company in Winnipeg is seeking 3 Case Manager Trainees to support disability claims for Group & Individual business. On-the-job training is provided, with a structured start in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

The role begins with an 8-12 week onsite training period, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, before transitioning to a flexible hybrid schedule. Salary starts at $60,000 with future growth tied to performance and company plans.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in an Allied Health field is required or an equivalent combination of medical experience.
• Minimum 1–3 years of complex customer service experience by phone or in person.
• Bilingual French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess and render decisions via proactive case management for claims.
• Collaborate with members, reinsurers, medical practitioners and providers for documentation.
• Coordinate with clients to understand business needs and possible accommodations.
• Provide timely updates on claims status and respond to inquiries.
• Review policy wordings to ensure decisions stay within scope.
