Job summary

Canada Life in Winnipeg is seeking an Intake Coordinator (Claims Examiner) to support disability claims operations. The role involves reviewing claims, verifying information, and communicating with plan members to ensure accurate processing.

The position is Full-Time, 12-Month Contract with a hybrid work arrangement (2 days onsite per week after training). Training is onsite for ~12 months, with start date about 4 weeks after offer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or call centre operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail when reviewing documents and data entry.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Review incoming disability claims and supporting documentation to verify completeness.
• Communicate with plan members and plan sponsors via calls and emails.
• Request missing information and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Enter and maintain claim information in internal systems.
• Follow policies, procedures, and contractual guidelines.
• Prepare claim-related correspondence, including declination letters when required.
• Maintain confidential electronic records.
• Investigate inquiries and provide timely resolutions.
• Manage multiple priorities including calls, emails, and follow-ups.
• Meet service standards with accuracy and customer satisfaction.
