Job summary

EMCO Corporation is a leading national wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products to the construction industry. The Counter Sales & Material Handler role combines customer service at the sales counter with warehouse material handling in a hybrid position.

You will assist walk-in customers, process orders, and promote products at the counter while also picking, packing, and shipping orders, receiving shipments, and maintaining warehouse safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

Provide accurate customer service at the counter and via phone/email.

Responsibilities

Assist walk-in customers at the counter with product inquiries, recommendations, and order processing.
Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter.
Promote products and drive sales growth through merchandising and customer engagement.
Generate leads for the Outside Account Manager by networking with customers.
Process returns, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Follow up on backorders and provide accurate delivery timelines to customers.
Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Receive, verify, and put away incoming vendor shipments and customer returns.
Identify and store special order or damaged materials appropriately.
Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety by removing debris and reporting hazards.
Document shipping discrepancies and initiate freight claims when necessary.
Notify supervisors of inventory discrepancies or damaged materials.
