Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) seeks a Manager, Employee Communications to join the Victoria, BC office. The role embeds within business unit leadership to design holistic communications plans for internal, external, and client-facing audiences, coordinating execution across the Communications team.

You will advise on executive messaging, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and leverage AI capabilities to sharpen communications and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business, communications, public relations, journalism, finance or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive communications experience within a corporate service-based organization; leadership experience a plus.
• Understanding of institutional investing across public and private markets is an asset.
• Project management experience managing complex, integrated communication projects.
• Relationship owner with a service-first mindset, building trust and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using AI tools for content creation, analysis, and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Integrates deeply within assigned business unit to understand its strategic priorities, challenges, and market context.
• Develops, leads, and executes holistic communications plans (internal, external, client-facing) aligned with unit strategy.
• Advises on content strategy and leadership communications with asset-class subject matter expertise.
• Acts as primary liaison for content contributions to BCI's annual report and key corporate publications.
• Partners with Digital Platforms to track engagement and improve reach and impact.
• Supports crisis communications planning and issue management for the unit.
