Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Markham, Ontario is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the financial and administrative affairs of the assigned region in collaboration with the Regional Controller.

The role requires a minimum of five years in accounting leadership, a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting or a Finance degree, CPA preferred, and experience in construction or engineering sectors is a plus; this is a hybrid, full‑time position with a salary range of 95,000 to 110,000 CAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller roles.
• Diploma in Business Administration – Accounting or Finance degree.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Experience in construction or engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salary recovery worksheets and cost transfer forms.
• Post journal entries and perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist operations with updating jobs (productivity, change orders, cost codes).
• Conduct month-end close including unbilled work orders and WIP reports.
• Support ad hoc reports for job performance.
• Participate in annual external audit and cash flow management.
