Job summary

Reliance Impact in the GTA is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for a growing construction business. You’ll own month-end close, job costing/WIP, cash flow, and provide timely financial insights to project teams.

The role requires 7+ years of accounting/finance experience with construction/project accounting, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of progress billings, holdbacks, and ERP systems. Hybrid work in the GTA with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years accounting/finance experience, construction/project accounting required.
• Strong understanding of progress billings, holdbacks, subcontractor accounting, and cost codes.
• Advanced Excel; experience with construction accounting/ERP systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end/year-end close and produce financial statements & variance reporting.
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, project margin tracking, and change order accounting.
• Oversee AP/AR, progress billings, collections, and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure compliance (HST, payroll remittances, WSIB) and maintain strong internal controls.
• Partner with PMs/Operations on budgets, committed costs, and forecast-to-complete.
• Manage/mentor the accounting team and improve processes/systems.
