Work Details:

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems
• Develop maintenance standards, schedules, and programs
• Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
• Plan and manage projects, prepare material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications for machinery and systems
• Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
• Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers; review and approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates

Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Credentials:

• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association

Experience and Specialization:

• Installation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment or facilities
• Purchasing, procurement, and contracts
• Project planning

Area of specialization: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
