With a strong commitment to tenant satisfaction and employee engagement, this organization offers a dynamic and supportive work culture where professionals are empowered to lead, innovate, and grow.The Position : Our client is currently seeking a Supervisor, Technical Services to lead and support the day-to-day operations of a high-performing team of Building Operators across a significant commercial property portfolio in downtown Vancouver. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of building systems while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and tenant satisfaction.This position is ideal for an experienced operations professional with a strong technical foundation in HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, coupled with a proven track record of team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.Key Responsibilities : Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead a team of Building Operators across multiple assets, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and mentoring, and conduct regular performance reviews.Manage onboarding, training, and cross-training to ensure operational flexibility across the building pool.Oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and ensure adequate coverage for holidays, absences, and emergencies.Promote safety, accountability, and professionalism, ensuring all staff present themselves appropriately and adhere to uniform standards.Operational Oversight & Building Systems ManagementEnsure all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire life safety, and automation systems, are maintained to the highest standards through proactive inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs.Conduct monthly site inspections and ensure all issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.Supervise third-party contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with service agreements, quality standards, and timelines.Ensure emergency procedures, health and safety protocols, and regulatory compliance measures are followed at all times.Monitor service levels and tenant satisfaction through system tools like Yardi FM; analyze trends and implement service improvements.Budgeting & Capital PlanningCollaborate with Property Management to prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets.Provide input on equipment upgrades, capital improvements, and long-term maintenance planning.Lead procurement efforts for materials, supplies, and contracted services in alignment with company policies and budget constraints.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Leasing, Development, and Construction teams to support landlord work, tenant improvements, and occupancy timelines.Support sustainability and ESG initiatives, including the pursuit of green building certifications (e.g., BOMA BEST, LEED, WELL).Actively participate in Allied’s sustainable wellbeing and user engagement programs.Emergency & After-Hours ResponseRespond to building emergencies as needed, including evenings and weekends when required.Coordinate with emergency responders and internal stakeholders to resolve critical situations with minimal disruption to tenants.The Requirements : Experience & EducationMinimum 7 years of hands-on experience in commercial building operations, with expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems, and BAS.Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a facilities, engineering, or building operations environment.Degree or diploma in Engineering, Building Systems, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.Recognized certifications such as BES I & II, SMA / SMT, 4th Class Power Engineering, or equivalent.Proven experience in budget preparation, capital planning, and managing operational performance through KPIs.Technical & Regulatory KnowledgeAdvanced understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.Familiarity with regulatory requirements under the OHSA, Fire Code, Building Code, Electrical Code, and Environmental regulations.Experience working with building management software (Yardi FM, BAS) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of WHMIS, First Aid / CPR, and environmental best practices.Why Should You Apply?Work for a nationally recognized employer committed to innovation, ESG leadership, and tenant experience.Take on a visible leadership role with the opportunity to shape building standards across a prominent Vancouver portfolio.Be part of a collaborative, values-driven organization where professional development and employee wellbeing are prioritized.Enjoy competitive compensation, extended health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, wellness initiatives, and more.Contribute to meaningful sustainability initiatives and high-performance urban workspaces that enhance the built environment.To Apply : If you are an experienced technical services leader looking to take the next step in your career with a reputable and growth-focused organization, we want to hear from you.
