Facilities Technician III

Location: On-site
Type: Full-time
Salary Range: 88,000 – 95,000

Are you an experience, motivated and detail orientated HVAC technician with wide knowledge in general maintenance work? Do you enjoy a versatile, hands-on role? If so, do we would like to hear from you.

HOW YOU WILL THRIVE:

Success in this role means utilizing your technical skills to install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment, including boilers, RTUs, VAVs, air handlers, furnaces, and A/C units, assist with snow removal and contribute to general Facilities upkeep with accuracy while prioritizing safety by following Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED:

  • Perform maintenance and mechanical duties for assigned buildings and related facilities and equipment including but not limited to performance of HVAC, minor electrical, minor plumbing repairs, general building maintenance
  • Assist with snow removal in the winter
  • Comply with the guidelines of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and promote a safe and healthy work environment
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times, and ensure all required training is up to date
  • Maintain tools and equipment for safe and efficient operation and complete necessary logs on all assigned equipment
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, literature and technical information related to all aspects of the job
  • Assist with special events and other general work orders
  • Maintain current knowledge and attend the necessary training to assist with emergency and evacuation procedures (fire, gas leak, water leak, etc.)
  • Rotate on emergency on call pager, once every 2 months
  • Operate all buildings and related equipment
  • Stay current on work orders and maintain understanding of operating requirements through frequent review of operating manuals and inspection sheets

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Post-secondary school education preferred
  • Previous work experience in HVAC
  • HVAC Gas Technician 2 certificate
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Skilled in the operation and maintenance of hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Collaborative team player
  • CPR / First Aid Training is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
  • Ability to liaise with external contractors in a professional & efficient manner
