Summary: Mircom is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. The role involves performing advanced inspections, installations, programming, and servicing fire alarm, access control, intercom systems, and associated fire protection equipment. It requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer service. The technician will work with Mircom and non-Mircom systems, provide operational training, interpret technical documents, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior technicians and sharing best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform rack-up, programming, verification, and inspection of fire alarm systems, access control, intercom systems, and fire protection equipment.
  2. Perform inspections and service on Mircom and non-Mircom products.
  3. Complete and submit inspection reports promptly.
  4. Provide technical support and operational training to customers.
  5. Read and interpret engineered drawings, specifications, schematics, and manuals.
  6. Mentor and guide junior technicians.
Requirements and Skills:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Service Technician in the Fire Alarm industry.
  2. Electronics diploma or equivalent, or documented trade qualification.
  3. Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration is required.
  4. Proficiency in English communication.
  5. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolding.
  6. Valid G License.
  7. Knowledge of Mircom systems is an asset.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
