Job summary

Johnson Controls in Calgary, Canada seeks an HVAC Electrical Controls Installer to perform routine installation and checkout of various systems, reading drawings and maintaining a positive interface with customers to ensure satisfaction with the installation. The role requires reading wiring schematics, understanding local codes, and working with prime electrical contractors.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson electrical license or equivalent certification.
• Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with determining installation materials scope.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willing to travel for overnight/out-of-town projects when required.
• Typically four years of experience with control installations.

Responsibilities

• Install and checkout HVAC control systems per codes and drawings.
• Work with prime electrical contractors and interface with customers.
• Install raceways, conduit, cables, and wiring; mount and terminate controls equipment.
• Assist sales with electrical estimates and retrofit projects.
• Maintain documentation, time sheets, expense reports, and as-built drawings.
• Communicate with customers on site arrival and departure.
• Follow Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
