How will you do it

We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics with practical work experience in their trade, including HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry.

Mechanics should have practical experience with light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. Passing an examination to demonstrate specific skills may be required. The scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in repairing centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

We offer factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA), along with recognition, monetary rewards, and opportunities for advancement. Our programs emphasize employee safety, and we provide tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle to support your work and service standards.

You will deliver exceptional service to customers by resolving facility inefficiencies and service issues. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service, including recommendations and upselling opportunities. You will also prepare quotes to support your recommendations.

What we look for

Required

  • Willingness to learn and responsibility for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services in this growing business.
  • Good standing membership with LOCAL 787.
  • Hold at least a G2 Gas Fitter license; G1 license is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of troubleshooting experience in commercial and/or industrial mechanical systems within the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, and compressors.
  • Mechanical shaft alignment experience using dial indicators, etc., for pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Willingness to travel 10% to 20% to support branch activities, troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
  • Interest in career development through training programs in HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Ability to work with other local mechanics, servicemen, and apprentices.
  • Strong interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills to effectively identify problems, causes, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to provide quotes and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-motivated with a passion to learn and apply skills on the job.
  • Commitment to safety in all aspects.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance.
