Based at our permanent garage in Iqaluit, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on machinery such as excavators, drills, cranes, shovels, bulldozers, off-road trucks, crushers, etc.
Responsibilities
- Ensure periodic preventive maintenance;
- Perform diagnostics to detect breakdowns and malfunctions;
- Evaluate the extent of repairs and plan the required time;
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble defective parts;
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning;
- Perform welding, cutting, and drilling of metal as needed;
- Operate and move machinery or vehicles as required;
- Identify replacement parts in parts books for ordering;
- Recommend improvements or maintenance to optimize machinery;
- Collaborate with construction sites to meet objectives and adhere to deadlines.
Requirements
- DEP in construction machinery mechanics (experience can compensate for lack of training);
- Knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar duties;
- Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations;
- Good physical ability and manual dexterity.
