Job summary

Black & Veatch in Markham, ON is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our HV substation team. You will support substation designs up to 765 kV, performing physical design, protection & controls, and delivering EPC deliverables.

You will prepare equipment specs, BOMs, yard layouts and wiring diagrams, and collaborate with clients, vendors and project teams. Hybrid work is available after 90 days, with occasional travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Pre-employment checks (background, drug screen, and motor vehicle records) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation designs including physical design and protection & controls.
• Develop protection/relay schemes and one-line diagrams for HV substations.
• Prepare equipment specs and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and subcontractors; attend design reviews.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
