Job description

We are looking for a Human Resources Director who will serve as the Culture Champion at our beautiful Dorian Hotel in downtown Calgary. This HR leader will act as a strategic business partner to our General Manager and the Executive Committee, actively engaging with our associates and monitoring training needs.

Position responsibilities include:

1. Develop a deep understanding of the business, create and implement strategic annual HR objectives, and participate in the staffing, productivity, benefit, and labor relation aspects of the budget process.
2. Partner with hotel leaders to maintain a positive work environment, ensuring adherence to Concord’s policies and HR philosophies regarding employee relations and disciplinary procedures.
3. Facilitate open communication channels, lead town hall meetings, resolve staff complaints, and oversee disciplinary and corrective processes. Monitor staff turnover and suggest improvements.
4. Oversee hotel recruitment and hiring strategies for all positions.
5. Develop and coordinate training programs for skills development and management training, including anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training.
6. Manage performance appraisal processes and maintain accurate employee records in compliance with applicable laws.
7. Ensure the hotel's compliance with all relevant Canadian laws.
8. Promote safety awareness among hotel associates.
9. Conduct wage and salary surveys as needed for the local market.
10. Ensure adherence to company HR policies and procedures.
11. Oversee and investigate employee relations and labor matters related to Canadian laws.
