Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in human resources or related field.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in HR, business admin, or related field.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and prioritization."
  • Knowledge of HR, privacy, health and safety legislation, principles, practices and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with HRIS, payroll systems and Microsoft Office.

Dawson Co-op invites applications for the permanent full-time position of Human Resources Coordinator to join our Administration team in Dawson Creek, BC.

The HR Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across the human resources function. The role will assist with recruitment, onboarding, records management, compliance, training coordination, employee communications, and HR department projects.

What you’ll do:
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely, accurate and confidential HR services to stakeholders.
  • Support HR department functions for recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Maintain employee records, HR information systems, and employment documentation.
  • Coordinate training programs, monitor mandatory training completion, and support employee development initiatives.
  • Assist with HR projects and process improvements.
  • Provide administrative support for occupational health and safety programs and health and wellness initiatives
  • Coordinate employee leaves, disability management, return to work, and accommodation.
  • Support compliance with employment and privacy legislation, organizational policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provide support for employee payroll and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate programs for employee experience, engagement, and recognition
  • Prepare reports, metrics, and correspondence.
  • Build trust with stakeholders through professionalism, responsiveness, accountability, and integrity.
  • Support employees and managers with a customer-focused approach when responding to inquiries, interpreting requirements, or preparing documentation.
  • Contribute positively to organizational culture and employee experience.
  • Coordinate the procurement of employee uniforms, name tags, or other work-related equipment as needed.
  • Continuously developing HR knowledge and professional skills.
  • Know and adhere to Dawson Co-op policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who are you:
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in human resources or another related field, or equivalent combinations of experience and education.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in human resources, business administration, or other relevant fields.
  • Strong ability with problem solving, critical thinking, and prioritization.
  • Knowledge of human resources, privacy, health and safety legislation, principles, practices and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency using human resources and payroll information systems, Microsoft Office, and other software.
  • Able to build trust through high levels of professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
  • High integrity, with the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, formal workplace ethics and privacy training would be considered an asset.
  • CPHR or other relevant designation is an asset.
  • Experience with conflict resolution, coaching, and negotiations is an asset.
Working Conditions:
  • Standard shifts are up to 8 hours, 5 days per week, with options for flexible schedules.
  • Occasional travel between work locations and onsite work required.
  • Requires frequent interaction and follow through with all Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Team Members.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, scent, weather, and other environmental conditions
  • Frequent sitting, computer use, and interacting with
  • Annual salary between $51,610 and $77,415 based on qualifications and experience
