Job summary

City of Prince Albert is seeking an HR Consultant to provide responsive HR support to leaders across the organization. You will advise on employee and workplace matters, support performance and attendance management, and help resolve conflicts while ensuring practices align with policies and values.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will partner with leaders on recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and investigations, applying collective agreements and employment laws to build strong teams

Qualifications

• Degree in HR or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
• CPHR designation.
• Min 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Experience applying collective agreements, employment & human rights legislation & HR policies.
• Experience advising managers on employee relations matters.

Responsibilities

• Providing HR advice & coaching on employee and workplace matters.
• Supporting performance & attendance management, conflict resolution, investigations, accommodations & employee relations.
• Promoting early intervention & practical problem-solving.
• Partnering on recruitment, onboarding & workforce planning.
• Interpreting & applying collective agreements, employment legislation & HR policies.
• Building collaborative relationships & leadership capability.
• Identifying workplace issues & escalating complex matters.
• Contributing to HR projects, policy development, & organizational initiatives.

What You Bring:

Experience & Credentials:

• Degree in HR or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
• Min 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Experience applying collective agreements, employment & human rights legislation & HR policies.
• Experience advising managers on employee relations matters.

Workplace investigations, grievance resolution, or collective bargaining experience is an asset.
