Role Description

The Human Resource Business Partner serves as a key leader within Michels Canada, responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including employee relations, policies, programs, and practices. The role involves maintaining and enhancing HR functions by planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives across Canada and internationally.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Identify and communicate workplace hazards, correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  3. Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve HR programs and policies.
  4. Foster a positive, inclusive work culture through employee engagement initiatives.
  5. Provide leadership, coaching, and support to managers and staff; serve as the point of contact for escalated employee issues.
  6. Advise on HR best practices, conduct performance management, and oversee salary benchmarking and compensation adjustments.
  7. Develop and update HR policies in compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  8. Ensure legal compliance at all levels and promote Michels Canada's core values and culture.
  9. Lead by example, fostering trust and effective professional relationships.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with 5+ years of HR experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel as needed.
Desired Skills

Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and international experience are a plus. Must communicate fluently in English.
