NCS FLUID HANDLING SYSTEMS

THEORGANIZATION

Our client, NCS Fluid Handling Systemsis an industry leader in water transfer and fluid management services,known for its commitment to environmental stewardship, safety, andoperational excellence. With a strong safety culture, NCS provides itsemployees with industry-leading training and resources to ensure workis performed efficiently and safely. Project Managers and senior staffplay a hands-on role from project initiation, developing customizedsafety plans and procedures that are integrated into daily operationsand hazard assessments.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The HR Business Partner will play a key role insupporting and aligning human resource strategies with NCS FluidHandling Systems’ operational goals across Canada. This role will workclosely with leaders and employees across all levels of theorganization, providing guidance in areas such as recruitment,employee relations, compensation and benefits, policy development, andHR program implementation. The successful candidate will also supportthe rollout of the HRIS system, ensure compliance with employmentlegislation, and lead change management initiatives. As a trustedpartner to the business, the HR Business Partner will foster stronginternal relationships, champion a positive workplace culture, andbring a practical, solutions-focused mindset to the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Given thepivotal role this individual will be expected to play in achieving thestrategic objectives of the company and in supporting the success ofthe organization, it is essential that the successful candidatepossess the following core competencies, experience, andattributes:

Strategic HRInitiatives and Operational Priorities:

  • Collaborate on defining and refining the responsibilitiesof the HR Business Partner role, with input from other departments.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a performancemanagement system, including defining key metrics and processes.
  • Support the potential rollout of a new employee benefitsprogram.
  • Evaluate and recommend an HRIS system that alignswith organizational needs.
  • Enhance onboarding andoffboarding processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Review and update the employee handbook to reflect currentpolicies, legislation, and best practices.

Talent Acquisition and Growth:

  • Accountable for managing recruitment and selectionprocesses, conducting interviews, overseeing employee onboardingdocumentation, handling terminations, and provide strategic oversightand ensure consistent maintenance of a structured tiered trainingprogram for field employees.
  • Provide support and guidance infurther developing and implementing the tier training system.

HR Policy, Engagement and BusinessAlignment:

  • Create, update, and enforceHR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standardsand alignment with organizational goals.
  • Address and resolveemployee relations issues, fostering a positive and productive workenvironment.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhanceemployee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategieswith business objectives and drive organizational success.
  • Manage the HR budget, ensuring efficient allocation ofresources and cost-effective HR practices.
  • Lead and supportorganizational change initiatives, ensuring effective communicationand smooth transitions.
  • Develop and implement successionplans to ensure leadership continuity and address future staffingneeds.

Employee Experience:

  • Continuously assess and enhance currentpractices to improve the overall employee experience and journey.
  • Foster and sustain a positive workplace culture that embodiesthe organization’s values and mission.
  • Develop and implementan effective onboarding and retention strategy that prioritizesemployee learning, growth, engagement, and satisfaction, ultimatelydriving long-term retention and team stability.

FIRST YEAR – MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Develop and define roles, responsibilities, andjob descriptions for all positions.
  • Establish performanceevaluation systems, including bonus and compensation audits.
  • Create and implement disciplinary policies and standardize HRprocesses and templates.
  • Lead the HRIS implementation andensure smooth integration across the organization.

THE INDIVIDUAL

Given the pivotalrole this individual will be expected to play in achieving thestrategic objectives of the company and in supporting the success ofthe organization, it is essential that the successful candidatepossess the following core competencies, experience, andattributes:

Education

  • Post-secondary education with a specialization in HumanResources or a related field is ideal, with consideration being givento employment experience only.
  • CPHR designation is an asset.

Experience

  • 5-10 years in Human Resources having experienced allaspects of HR as a generalist.
  • Experienced in learning anddevelopment and budget management is an asset.
  • Experience inan industrial setting such as Construction, Oil & Gas, or projectbased operations. would be an asset.
  • Familiar withemployment standards legislation across the different provinces is arequirement.

  • Extensive experience in HR, with theability to handle a wide range of challenges confidently andefficiently.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and updating HRpolicies to ensure compliance with current regulations and industrybest practices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in office primarily with the opportunity for ahybrid work arrangement, under the conditions that the successfulcandidate will be in the Nisku office 3-4 days a week, which issubject to change depending on the needs of the team.
