About the team:

The Human Resource Department at Huawei Canada supports all aspects of HR functions, focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with corporate and legal standards. The department emphasizes employee well-being and professional growth, fostering a culture of collaboration and success. Its goal is to align workforce strategies with Huawei’s vision to drive sustainable growth and organizational effectiveness.

About the job:

  1. Coach and advise the local leadership team and counsel employees, including junior HR personnel, on all HR matters.
  2. Operate, adapt, and optimize HR processes; implement HR policies; promote core values; manage talent acquisition and development; oversee incentive and performance management.
  3. Deliver HR training on policies, processes, and best practices; build relations to enhance HR management capabilities of managers.
  4. Manage leaves (vacation, STD/LTD/Maternity Leave), payroll, and provide assistance as needed.
  5. Contribute to organizational effectiveness by identifying, developing, and recommending talent, including top experts and junior employees.
  6. Assist with onboarding and manage attrition through exit interviews.
  7. Support performance management and annual compensation planning processes.
  8. Advise on employee relations, manage relationships, and foster a healthy organizational climate.
  9. Represent HR in management meetings and communicate HR initiatives to leadership and staff.

Job requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, or Business; Master’s Degree and/or CHRL / CPHR certification is an asset.
  2. At least 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, with expertise in HR solutions, guidelines, and policies.
  3. Successful recruitment experience and ability to develop talent acquisition strategies.
  4. Knowledge of employment/labor law and policies; ability to influence and coach employees and managers to enhance engagement and performance.
  5. Practical experience in performance management, compensation, and talent valuation aligned with the talent value chain.
