About SNDL

SNDL (Nasdaq: SNDL) is Canada’s largest private-sector liquor and cannabis retailer, operating trusted banners like Value Buds, Spiritleaf, Firesale Cannabis, and Ace Liquor. As a vertically integrated cannabis company and licensed producer, we specialize in indoor cultivation, innovative product development, and low-cost manufacturing. Our portfolio includes renowned brands like Top Leaf, Palmetto, Versus, Vacay, and more. With a bold entrepreneurial spirit, SNDL also strategically invests across the North American cannabis ecosystem.

The Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for a Human Resources Business Partner to support our Cannabis Retail Division. Based primarily at our Edmonton office with regular travel to stores, you’ll be a critical advisor to our Operations team, guiding everything from employee relations and investigations to training, leadership development, and change management.

You’ll act as a trusted partner to business leaders—bringing proactive, compliant, and innovative HR solutions that drive employee engagement and operational excellence. This is a high-impact role for a collaborative, confident, and self-motivated HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the primary HR point of contact for cannabis retail, supporting store managers, regional leaders, and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Lead investigations and advise on employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace conduct.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation across multiple provinces.
  • Develop, implement, and train leaders on HR policies, SOPs, and programs.
  • Support full-cycle HR processes, from onboarding and performance management to terminations and return-to-work accommodations.
  • Manage HR data and provide insights through reporting and analytics.
  • Partner with Occupational Health & Safety teams to ensure a safe, inclusive work environment.
  • Play an active role in diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, and change initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years in an HR Generalist, Advisor, or Business Partner role—retail experience is a plus!
  • Strong grasp of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation (multi-province experience preferred).
  • Experience conducting investigations and presenting/facilitating training.
  • Tech-savvy with strong Excel and HRIS/reporting skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources (required); CPHR designation is an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Who You Are

  • A natural relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident in advising executives and frontline managers alike.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
  • Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and delivering high-quality HR support.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and always ready to roll up your sleeves.

Why Join SNDL?

  • Fast-paced, innovative environment with learning and growth opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial culture where your voice is heard and ideas matter
