Job summary

The Saskatchewan Research Council is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support the employee lifecycle, delivering HR programs across the organization. The role partners with employees and leaders on employee relations, benefits, policy interpretation and HR processes.

This is a 2-year term with potential to become permanent. Located in Saskatoon, SRC offers a collaborative team environment, professional development, generous time off, flexible retirement and benefits, and a strong safety

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related experience.
• Minimum three years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Working knowledge of HR principles, best practices and applicable employment legislation.
• HR experience in an industrial environment including 24/7 operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and leaders, ensuring consistent HR practices.
• Support benefits administration by responding to inquiries and coordinating with providers.
• Assist with performance management, employee recognition and talent management activities.
• Maintain accurate HR records and data, support reporting and HRIS data integrity.
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and HR project initiatives.

Overview

The Human Resources Advisor contributes to the advancement of the HR function by providing professional HR support and guidance across the employee lifecycle. This role partners with employees and leaders to support day-to-day HR needs, including employee relations, benefits programs, policy interpretation and the delivery of HR programs and processes. This position is a 2-year term, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Accountabilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and leaders, including policy interpretation, employee relations support, and HR inquiries, while ensuring consistent application of HR practices and procedures
• Support benefits administration by responding to employee inquiries regarding eligibility, coverage, claims processes and benefit programs, while coordinating with external providers to ensure effective program delivery
• Support performance management and employee recognition programs through the coordination of communications, reporting, timelines and related administrative activities
• Partner with leaders to support talent management processes, including talent assessments, workforce planning discussions and the identification of employee development opportunities
• Maintains accurate employee records and HR system data, support reporting, workflow administration, data audits and employee inquiries to ensure data integrity and effective HR operations
• Support HR operational activities throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, records management and preparation of HR documentation and correspondence
• Participate in HR initiatives and projects and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of HR programs, processes and employee experience

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum three years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Working knowledge of HR principles, best practices and applicable employment legislation.
• HR experience in an industrial environment including 24/7 operations would be considered an asset.
• A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or working towards your designation is an asset.

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
