Job summary

Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is seeking a Facilities Operator to provide general maintenance support for SRC facilities, including offices, labs and industrial settings in Saskatoon, SK. Qualifications

  • Experience completing basic building maintenance tasks, repairs, and assembly.
  • Building Operator certification(s) considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and troubleshoot issues with facilities related items such as doors, windows, and locks.
  • Mount, hang, and secure objects on walls such as shelves, pictureframes, and fixtures.
  • Assemble furniture, including desks, chairs, and other office equipment.
  • Assist with seasonal groundskeeping tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of SRC spaces for meetings and events.
  • Monitor and report any larger maintenance needs to senior team members and managers.
  • Participate as a member of SRC’s emergency management team and assist the Health and Safety team with OH&S activities.

Overview

The Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) Facilities and Security team is seeking a Facilities Operator to provide general maintenance support for SRC facilities, including office spaces, labs, and industrial settings. This role serves as the go-to for assistance with minor maintenance tasks and facility requests. This role also requires some on-call and emergency out-of-office hours.

Accountabilities
  • Perform general building maintenance and trouble shoot issues with facilities related items such as doors,windows,and locks
  • Mount, hang, and secure objects on walls such as shelves, pictureframes,and fixtures
  • Assemble furniture, including desks,chairs,and other office equipment
  • Assistwith seasonal groundskeeping tasks
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored
  • Assistin setup and breakdown of SRC spaces formeetingsandevents
  • Monitor and report any larger maintenance needs to senior team members and managers
  • Participate as a member of SRC’s emergency management team andassistthe Health and Safety team with OH&S activities
Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how to use avariety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
