Job summary

JVS Toronto is seeking a Human Resources Administrator to support day-to-day HR operations and cross-functional projects. This role combines HR administration with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee communications to help create a positive employee experience.

You will also assist with events, website updates, and organizational communications in a hybrid Toronto setting. A post-secondary HR credential and 1–2 years of HR experience are preferred, along with strong MS

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years HR administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, onboarding, changes and offboarding.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR policies and general inquiries.
  • Maintain confidential employee records in compliance with policy and law.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.
  • Coordinate job postings and onboarding materials; track onboarding docs.
  • Maintain HRIS data, administer benefits enrollments and HR reports.
  • Support planning of virtual and in-person events and cross-functional projects.

Starting Salary: $45,000 - $55,000. Commensurate with experience

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Tycos Drive, Toronto (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

As a Human Resources Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources team while also providing administrative support for broader organizational initiatives. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines HR administration with opportunities to support organizational events, communications, and cross-functional projects.

You will support employees throughout the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through employment changes and offboarding, while contributing to a positive employee experience and the effective operation of the organization.

What You'll Do
Employee Lifecycle & HR Support
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with organizational policies and legislative requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate job postings and support recruitment administration across internal and external platforms.
  • Prepare employment documentation, including offer letters and onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation to support a smooth and welcoming employee experience.
  • Track pre-employment requirements and onboarding documentation.
HRIS, Benefits & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS and related systems.
  • Administer employee group benefits, including enrollments, terminations, and changes, and respond to general benefits inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and dashboards and track key employee milestones and employment-related deadlines.
  • Monitor and respond to HR service requests and provide administrative support for HR initiatives and projects.
Organizational Support
  • Support the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person organizational events and initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating website and social media content, including event information, program updates, announcements, and other organizational communications.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives as required.
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of HR administrative experience, with exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits, or other employee lifecycle activities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, particularly when working with employee records, documentation, and HR data.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn new systems and databases.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience administering employee benefits, including familiarity with Desjardins.
  • Experience using HRIS, recruitment, or HR service-management systems.
  • As an additional asset, experience updating website content and organizational social media platforms.
