Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Reporting to the VP of People and Culture, the HR Manager oversees strategic and operational HR functions in a fast-paced environment. As we grow, we seek an experienced HR Manager to help establish a strong foundation for long-term success.

This role involves building a cohesive HR infrastructure, supervising staff, supporting policy development and compliance, and advising on complex personnel matters. The HR Manager will ensure alignment and collaboration between office and field operations, maintaining a consistent employee experience across the company.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  1. Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead and mentor HR staff, oversee daily operations, and support recruitment strategies.
  2. Incident & Report Management: Manage workplace incident reporting, investigation, and documentation.
  3. Policy Development & Compliance: Develop HR policies, ensure legal and internal compliance.
  4. Employee Relations & Issue Resolution: Handle employee relations, investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  5. Training & Performance Management: Identify training needs, oversee performance evaluations and development plans.
  6. Organizational Development: Support workforce planning, evaluate structures, and recommend improvements.
  7. HR Reporting & Systems Management: Maintain HR metrics, ensure effective HRIS use.
  8. Compensation & Benefits: Support salary planning, benefits administration, and pay equity initiatives.
  9. Strategic HR Leadership: Align HR strategy with business goals, advise leadership, and ensure consistency across locations.
  10. Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks to support HR functions.
The Ideal Candidate:
Education / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems; UKG experience is a plus.
Experience / Skills:
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in mining, construction, or remote environments preferred.
  • Experience with workplace investigations, confidentiality, and legal compliance.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Discretion, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Location & Conditions:

This is an office-based role at Skeena’s Vancouver headquarters, Monday to Friday. The environment is fast-paced and sometimes stressful, with multiple priorities. Some flexibility in work location may be considered.

Compensation:

The salary range is CA$100,000 - CA$140,000, based on experience and qualifications. Salary offers will consider education, training, and experience.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Priority will be given to Indigenous Nations members residing within our project territories.
