Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking an HSSE Manager to lead the Health and Safety Management System at our Ontario plant. You will mentor managers and supervisors, drive safety performance, and ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements.

You will partner with the Site Leadership Team to foster a proactive safety culture, implement OHSMS procedures, and manage incident reporting and corrective actions, while supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role in a manufacturing or process industry.
• Bachelor of Science in OH&S, or a related certificate/diploma (preference to sciences).
• Demonstrated leadership within a manufacturing or process environment with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to managers and staff in safety and incident prevention.
• Ensure OH&S roles and responsibilities are defined and understood at all levels.
• Implement and monitor the OH&S Management System (OHSMS) with safe work procedures and training.
• Maintain OHSMS documentation and conduct inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
