Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a senior health and safety leader to drive a zero-injury culture across our Canadian network.

You will champion compliance with federal and provincial OHS regulations and lead the rollout of a new safety platform while modernizing SOPs to embed consistent, audit-ready practices. You will develop strategic plans, oversee budget and governance, mentor a high-performing H&S team, and partner with senior leaders to embed data-driven safety improvements and incident

Qualifications

• 7-9 yrs H&S specific experience
• In-depth knowledge of federal and provincial OHS legislation
• Enterprise software implementation and change management
• SOP and safety standards development
• Cross-functional influence and leadership
• Incident investigation and risk assessment
• Data-driven safety performance analysis
• CRSP designation an asset
• Degree in Engineering or H&S

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise rollout of the safety platform across all sites.
• Standardize SOPs to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Foster a proactive safety culture to reduce incidents and lost-time.
• Governance, auditing, and corrective-action routines for compliance.
• Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators and report to leadership.
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, and CAPA tracking.
• Oversee H&S training and certification programs.
• Prepare for emergencies and crisis response across sites.
• Design, pilot and scale enterprise safety initiatives with strategy alignment.
• Partner with VP H&S to develop multi-year strategy and annual plan.
• Lead and develop a high-performing H&S team.
