Qualifications

  • 1+ year of related experience in HSE is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and apply OH&S and environmental legislation.

Here's how an HSE Coordinator contributes to our Calgary District:

  1. Monitors and assists with the implementation of the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
  2. Assists in determining when project-specific training is needed.
  3. Provides the project team with HSE information and trends, and helps develop action plans.
  4. Supports the development and use of hazard identification tools.
  5. Conducts HSE inspections and verifies corrective actions.
  6. Supports emergency response plan implementation and monitors security requirements.
  7. Reviews trade documentation and monitors safety compliance of trade contractors.
  8. Ensures equipment and tools are inspected and documented as required.
  9. Notifies stakeholders of incidents and supports investigations.
  10. Builds and maintains positive stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary certificate/diploma in HSE is strongly preferred.
  • 1+ year of related experience is preferred.
  • Working toward a safety designation is an asset.
  • Ability to learn and apply OH&S, environmental legislation, and HSE processes.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with craft workers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new technologies.
