Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Health Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our Corporate Services team, based out of Calgary, AB. The HSE Coordinator will support the HSE Manager with the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the health, safety, and environmental management system (HSEMS). The role involves supporting daily HSE functions in the corporate office and assisting at project sites as needed.

The candidate must have relevant training, knowledge, and experience in construction execution, HSE procedures development and implementation, support proposals, and possess the skills to interact effectively with personnel at all levels including management, clients, subcontractors, and workers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Research recent legislative and regulatory requirements and update corporate HSE standards accordingly.
• Complete and distribute HSE reports for offices and projects.
• Develop and publish a monthly HSE bulletin on the Bantrel portal.
• Schedule, attend, and record minutes for bi-weekly HSE meetings and quarterly joint health and safety committee meetings.
• Participate in office inspections.
• Lead HSE audits, including project, ISO, and COR audits.
• Assist in HSE training development and rollout.
• Support WCB claims management as needed.
• Maintain ISNetWorld and Avetta systems (training provided).
• Maintain statistical database for safety indicators.
• Support the emergency response team (ERT).
• Assist with Bantrel HSE Apps development and maintenance.
• Participate in project HSE assessments.
• Review incident investigations and provide feedback.
• Develop in ConX tools: PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI for inspections, workflows, reports, and assessments.
• Support booking drug and alcohol testing and medicals.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) experience.
• Minimum 1 year of administrative experience.
• Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• OH&S or NCSO certification is an asset.
• Willingness to learn new systems; experience with Microsoft applications, SharePoint, and Power BI is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively.
