This position provides a key leadership role in enhancing health and safety in the workplace through the development, implementation, delivery, evaluation and engagement of employees in injury prevention and health promotion strategies. It provides consultative support to company executives, management, safety personnel and front‑line employees in The Redpath Americas Group on all health, safety and training related matters, teaches, coaches, researches, develops, distributes and continuously improves companywide injury prevention and loss control programs, training and promotional materials, reports on the status of health and safety systems and site safety performance, and performs significant functions in the development of global safety and training initiatives in collaboration with management from other Redpath business units.
Required: High School Diploma with experience in mining, health and safety or Diploma/Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health or related field.
Preferred: Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
Member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP).
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation (or actively working toward certification).
Required: 10 years’ experience in mining health and safety capacity.
Preferred: 10-15 years’ experience in mining with corporate HSE experience, development of health, safety, training programs and procedures.
Prior experience as a miner considered an asset.
