Job summary

Silver Lake Resources is seeking an experienced supervisor to coordinate underground mine activities in Ontario, focusing on safety and sustainability. The role requires leading supervisors and crews, conducting pre-shift and end-of-shift de-briefings, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

You will plan production activities, coordinate resources, and monitor KPI achievement while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and site procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mining safety leadership and supervision.
  • Strong communication and team coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and mining regulations.

  • Provide and chair pre-shift briefings and end of shift de-briefings.
  • Plan and coordinate production activities to meet KPIs while minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with daily logbooks and safety procedures.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide for the coordination and control of activities within the underground mine operations. Ensure all programs, personnel actions and approaches support Vault Minerals / SilverLake goals for safety and sustainability. Act as a safety champion and exhibit safety leadership at all times. Work environment will include 80% underground and 20% surface.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY
Safety / Environment
  • Adherence to site and company standards and procedures in HSEC while ensuring all duties are being performed in a manner that minimises risk to self and others..
  • Assure that the highest standards of Environmental and Safety performance are adhered to within your area of responsibility.
  • Maintain housekeeping at all times, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed HSEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards and regulations.
  • Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures
Company / Leadership
  • Display conduct which is aligned with company Core Values, Policies and Procedures.
  • Lead by example and actively participate to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Initiate and provide input into company directives in collaboration with the Site Management team.
  • Communicate department obligations and conditions to the leadership team, ensuring specific understanding and accountability

  • Support and follow all lawful instructions/directives from direct supervisor.Maintain a high level of professionalism and take responsibility for own conduct and behaviour in the workplace.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication of department requirements and conditions to your supervisor.
Technical & Role Accountabilities
  • Oversee the performance of the mine supervisors and their crews.
  • Provide and chair pre-shift briefings and end of shift de-briefings.Ensure that all personnel in his/her charge know and follow the company’s policies, procedures and standards for work and safety, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
  • Plan and co-ordinate the required production activities and assist, advise and co-ordinate resources to minimize unplanned downtime to allow production teams to safely meet their budgeted KPIs in accordance with the mine. Liaise with department leaders regarding the progress through previous shift and issues going forward.
  • Ensure compliance around daily logbooks and review data entry for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify areas for staff development and provide coaching and performance feedback
  • Conducting performance/career management discussions and ensure individual development plans are implemented Support continuous improvement initiatives
Teamwork
  • Communicate relevant information and data to other personnel through formalised leadership team meetings and work crew start of shift process flow.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled operational process meetings and provide accurate information on problems, events and process changes.
  • Identify specific areas that have the potential for improvement and cost savings.
  • Participate in and utilise the change management process for identified problems and opportunities to make improvements
