Job summary

School District 71 (Comox Valley) invites applications for a Human Resources Representative, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The current rate is $31.95 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits. This temporary position ends February 1, 2027 or on return of the incumbent.

Qualifications include Grade 12 with a business admin certificate, HR coursework, and three years of HR experience. CPHR preferred; strong MS Office skills and high discretion are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education plus a post secondary program certificate in business administration or related field.
• One year of HR coursework; three years of current HR experience.
• CPHR designation preferred; typing speed 40 wpm; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and accuracy under changing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR services to employees and clerical support to HR Department.
• On-board new hires, set up email addresses and Employee IDs, ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with budgets, purchase orders, inventory tracking, and procurement.
• Support HR Helpdesk, ADS inquiries, and payroll-related tasks as needed.
• Maintain employee files and process internal/external job postings and applicant lists.
• Coordinate employee events, development activities, and data entry in HRIS.
• Act as back-up in absence of other HR Representatives; perform reception duties.
