  • Enters a variety of data from a variety of source materials and checks for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains office records and produces related reports (e.g. teacher-on-call usage, teacher absenteeism, and other statistics).
  • Performs a variety of general clerical duties.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Dispatch Clerk – Human Resources Department
TEMPORARY TERM (10-Month) POSITION – until return of incumbent Monday to Friday, 06:30-14:00; must be flexible with start/end times

The Dispatch Clerk plays a key role within the Human Resources Department by supporting the staffing and daily operational needs of Burnaby School District. This position is responsible for coordinating substitute teacher and support staff placements, maintaining staffing records, and supporting workforce planning activities that ensure schools are staffed effectively each day.

Working closely with Human Resources staff, school administrators, and employees across the district, the Dispatch Clerk gains valuable experience in employee scheduling, workforce coordination, attendance management processes, data reporting, and customer service. This position offers an excellent entry point for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources, education administration, or business operations.

This is a 10-month position working 35 hours/week. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 06:30-14:00, but candidate must be flexible with the start/end times. The hourly rate of pay is $33.52 per hour.
