Job summary

Starcom, part of Publicis Groupe, Toronto, is hiring an HR Generalist to support onboarding, employee relations, and compliance across Canada. You’ll manage HRIS data, assist with performance cycles, and coordinate health & safety activities for assigned client groups.

The role emphasizes data-driven insights, accuracy, and a human-first approach within a fast-paced environment. You’ll partner with HR leadership to deliver a positive employee experience and robust HR programs.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive HR experience.
• Working knowledge of HR policies, employment standards, and applicable employment legislation.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding and offboarding, including orientation sessions and exit interviews.
• Conduct new hire check-ins to assess onboarding experience and improvements.
• Support employee relations, leave requests, and documentation for maternity/parental leaves.
• Partner on performance management, merit cycles, and related timelines.
• Maintain HRIS data and troubleshoot absence, vacation, and time-off issues.
• Analyze data and provide turnover, retention, and engagement insights.
• Own compliance tracking and escalate risks as needed.
• Coordinate recurring HR programs, DPSP administration, engagement and CSR initiatives.
• Manage contract dates, fixed-term contracts, and recognition milestones.
• Prepare freelancer contracts and related documentation.
• Oversee workplace health and safety activities, incidents, and OHSA compliance.
